Dr. Nils Erick Calderón Tejerina is a specialist in Sports Traumatology, Orthopedics, and Arthroscopic Surgery, trained at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP-EPM, Brazil) and the Miami Hand Center (USA). He also holds a PhD from Cambridge International University (Spain).

Since 2004, he has served as Chief Medical Officer of Instituto TUMI in La Paz, and as a medical consultant for the professional football clubs Bolívar and Always Ready. He was the Medical Coordinator for the Dakar Rally in Bolivia (2014–2016). Dr. Stefan Kammermayer

Dr. Stefan Kammermayer is a German anesthesiologist and pain specialist with more than 30 years of medical experience. He has led the Munich Pain Centre since 2003, where he focuses on anesthesiologic pain therapy, interdisciplinary pain management, and innovative treatments such as focused shockwave therapy and cannabis-based pain medicine.

He is an active member of the German Society for the Study of Pain (DGSS) and has contributed extensively as an expert for German courts, producing over 300 expert opinions in cases related to pension, disability, accident, and insurance medicine.

Dr. Kammermayer has delivered more than 100 lectures in Germany and has organized major scientific meetings, including the monthly Interdisciplinary Pain Conference in Munich and the long-standing Munich Acute Pain Therapy Conference (2007–2020), endorsed by the German Pain Society.

His recent academic contributions include lectures on the role of shockwave therapy for chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS), the iliopsoas muscle, and diagnostic procedures in ESWT, as well as publications on advanced pain therapies and intra-articular treatments for osteoarthritis.

Dr. Paul Hobrough

Paul Paul Hobrough is an internationally recognised physiotherapist, educator, and UK-registered prescriber with over 25 years of clinical experience. He is undertaking the world’s first PhD on radial pressure waves in healthy athlete recovery and has published on the clinical applications of shockwave therapy. Paul teaches widely at national and international conferences and has delivered training to elite organisations including the New York Knicks, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Dallas Stars, New York City Ballet, and Team GB.

Alongside his academic and teaching work, Paul runs Hobrough Healthcare, a bespoke clinic in Hexham, Northumberland, where he provides elite physiotherapy, biomechanics, medical acupuncture, diagnostic ultrasound, injection therapy, and prescribing practice. A former Great Britain international kayaker (1988–2003), he is also the bestselling author of two books on running performance and injury prevention.

Dr. Kandiah Raveendran

Dr Raveendran graduated from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He did his orthopedic training at University of Malaya, St. George’s Hospital, London and Walton Hospital, Liverpool. He obtained his MCh Orth from the University of Liverpool. He returned to Malaysia to serve as a lecturer at the University of Malaya and later moved to Ipoh to be in private practice at Fatimah Hospital where he is still practicing.

Dr Raveendran developed an early interest in sports medicine and served as orthopaedic surgeon to the state soccer team. He was a member of the first sports medicine travelling fellowship to United States in 1988. He has also been a Godfather leading a team of sports medicine travelling fellows in 2006 again to the United States. 

He has been active in several national and international associations. He was a founder member of the sports medicine section of APOA now known as APKASS. He has served as President of APOSSM.

Dr Raveendran was the Past First Vice President of SICOT, past National Delegate for SICOT, National Delegate for APKASS and National Delegate for APKS (Asia Pacific Knee Society)
He was the President of the International Society for Medical Shockwave Treatment (ISMST) in 2016 and organized the 19 th Annual ISMST meeting in Kuching, Malaysia in July 2016. He is a current member of the ISMST Managing Board.

He has been SICOT Examiner for more than twenty years since the first examination in 2003. He is a Deputy Editor of the International Journal of Surgery. He is a reviewer for many journals including the American Journal of Sports Medicine. In December 2015, he edited a special edition of the International Journal of Surgery on Shockwave treatment.

Dr Raveendran has presented more than 100 papers at national and international meetings and has several publications to his credit.

Dr. Toru Omodani

Toru Omodani, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon and Director of Tokyo Advanced Orthopaedics (TAO) in Japan, specializing in musculoskeletal ultrasound and extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT). His clinical and research focus is the optimization of focused ESWT protocols for bone stress injury and tendon pathology in youth and elite athletes, as well as multimodal strategies that integrate ESWT with biologics and image-guided interventions. Dr. Omodani serves on the boards of the Japanese Musculoskeletal Shock Wave Society and the Japanese Orthopedic Ultrasound Society, and has delivered invited ESWT lectures and podium presentations at multiple ISMST World Congresses (Vienna 2021, Prague 2022, Daegu 2023) and related international meetings. His peer-reviewed work includes reports on focused ESWT for ischial apophysitis and cases of physeal injury/osteochondrosis, and he has explored ESWT in combination with platelet-rich plasma for difficult fracture and tendinopathy scenarios. He has received several ultrasound/ESWT-related distinctions, including awards from the Korean Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (2022) and the Asian Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (2024). At TAO, Dr. Omodani leads a high-volume, athlete-centric program that uses high-resolution ultrasound to personalize shock wave dosing, target selection, and return-to-sport timelines, aiming to shorten recovery while maintaining durability of outcomes.

Dr. Pavel Novak Muchi

Pavel Novak graduated (Dipl-Ing. 1974, Dr.-Ing. 1980) in Electrical and Biomedical
Engineering at the Munich Technical University in Germany. He started 1974 his professional carrier in biomedical applied research at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solid State Technology in Munich.

From 1985 to 1990 he was part of the team developing shockwave lithotripters at Dornier Medizintechnik GmbH in Germering. Thereafter he was head of development and production for minimal invasive electronic equipment at Storz Endoscope Productions GmbH in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

Since 2003 he works for Storz Medical GmbH in Tägerwilen, Switzerland in different positions as Director of Product Development, Product Management and Science & Technology in the field medical shockwaves applications (ESWT and TPS). Dr. José María Busto Villarreal

Dr. José María Busto Villarreal is a specialist in Traumatology and Orthopedics with advanced training in Joint Surgery.
